Coraline walked up the steps to the fourth floor, her art book open and floating in front of her as she sketched a darkly shaded, worn out mansion. The castle was dimly lit as the hour was late but Coraline didn't feel like sleeping, sitting or even stopping for a moment.
Life for her at the moment was extremely dull, and moving around was the only thing that kept her from jumping out the nearest window just to squash her boredom.
Turning the corner, she climbed the couple of steps and continued as though she were going to psychic studies - something that was rare in itself.
A feminine voice hissed quietly, "I've gotten two, and one was not by your efforts!"
Interested, Coraline grabbed her floating book and crept closer to the closed door of Professor Wayland's room.
"I've got until sun rise. I'll find someone, please Scorpia, I'm begging- "
"Four hours, no more. I'll get what was promised, or you'll pay for it."
Coraline heard footsteps and backed quickly away from the door to avoid looking guilty. The door swung inward and the glass across the hall from it shattered. All was silent; the curtains billowed in the early morning breeze.

Elye watched Scorpia shatter the glass just across the hall from his classroom. It wasn't the first time she'd done that, but he couldn't say it was getting any easier to explain why that window just wouldn't stay. However, he had bigger things to worry about than some worthless window. He needed to find one more psychic before the sun rose to hand over to her, to begin to work for her.
But at this hour he'd be lucky to find anyone awake and wondering by themselves. Most students at St. Vec's had sense enough to roam in groups. "Oh I'm a dead man." he moaned rubbing his eyes and walked to shut his classroom door, deciding he'd just flee if, two hours before sunrise, he hadn't gotten anyone.
Maybe it wouldn't have to come to that though. A red headed student was standing a little ways down the hall. "You there, what's your name?"
