The Person
Personality:
Leo Phoenix has a highly contrasted life. She is both content and somber; outgoing and withdrawn. Her moods and surroundings define her actions, and she's not so good at keeping little secrets. To be Leo's friend, you have to be ready to go on an adventure at any moment, because Leo doesn't plan ahead.
History: Leo Phoenix was, believe it or not, born to a magician and vampire. Due to the day she was born, her given element was that of light. Over time she found that not only was the element Light her best controlled element, but also a symbol for her life. At the age of six, her powers jumped into full gear and her mother left. However, Leo has no knowledge of her mother's existence, as she had cleared Leo's memories of her to make her leaving easier. Leo's father, as a result, never heard Leo ask once where her mother had gone. Leo was sent across the country by train to St. Vec's later the next year.
Being born of a vampire and magician proved to be a challenge for Leo. First off, with a name like Leo Phoenix, it's hard not to be singled out. Leo became the center of her classmates attention up until three weeks after her eighth birthday, when the others began to ease off. Leo didn't mind in the slightest, because she found she had more time to herself without all the noise and friends. At ten she began to write horror stories, which frightened away her classmates. She was now completely repelling them. A few kids stuck around though - Hudson and Blair - and they are still to the present day her friends.
On the topic of her powers, Leo values spell casting over element control. This is because she believes that element control is designed for the younger, uneducated magicians. Like her mother, Leo wants to be powerful, but for reasons unbeknown even to herself.

You find yourself facing that house time and again. So old it should've fallen by now. It's bay windows boarded and grimy; it's knocker rusted and demented. How much longer are you going to stand there, looking at it from the cast iron gate? If it calls to you so, why not push past the fence, march down that path and kick in the door!
It's only a house. No one lives there. What's the harm in simply exploring. It's not like you'll lose anything...
Leo tore the sheet of paper from he notebook and laid it on the waters surface. Within seconds the ink had bled and proved the writing illegible. Writing in the second point of view wasn't easy, but she was determined to prove she could do it. Staring at the page floating towards the bottom of the fountain, she willed it to catch fire. Of course, just because she was magic didn't mean the laws of science didn't still apply to some things.
Forming a pocket of air around the sheet, she pushed out all water and then lit her fire. It lasted until the air was used up and then water came to extinguish it again. The little puff of smoke rose out of the water, and as Leo stared at it, she saw someone approaching her.
