Jerrika was thrilled when she found out the school had a library, filled with as many books as she wanted to read! Hardly containing her excitement, Jerrika skipped up the stairs to the ninth floor, half running to the open Library doors. Out of breath but smiling widely, Jerrika was amazed by the sight. Rows and rows of books lined shelves as tall as the ceiling itself. The moss green carpet below muffled her steps as she walked quickly through the first three rows lined with dull colored books-- Nonfiction. Making a face, Jerrika skipped over to another row to be greeted with pinks and yellows and big bubble letterings of fantasty books. Scanning book after book, the one she'd been searching for presented itself. Robin Hood sat lazily on the shelf way out of reach of Jerrika's small arms. Stupid book, who's idea was it to put it so high? Any and all joy Jerrika had felt was gone, replaced by waves of sadness. Tears began to stream down her face as she looked helplessly at the top shelf she couldn't reach.
Rubbing her eyes, Jerrika could feel another mind in the library. Happy at the idea someone could help her, Jerrika decided it was time to try out a new trick. It wasn't really mind control, just mind suggestion. "Jerrika needs help, I should help her," she thought, feeling the persons mind tugging in her direction. Maybe now she'd finally get to read that book.

Yoko skipped merrily up the stairs. Her mommy had told her to wait at school because she and daddy were working later than they thought. Yoko didn't mind of course, because she loved the school. It was like a castle and she sometimes pretended she was a pixie living inside it. Up, up, up, she climbed the stairs. Then she stopped when she saw a new door. She'd never been so high in the castle and with a bubbling excitement rushed forward, her long black ponytails flying behind her like ribbons.
She opened the door to a humongous room with books like the ones she saw older students reading. The carpet was green and when she knelt down to feel it, it felt soft and fuzzy. Jerrika needs help, I should help her. the thought echoed in her head and Yoko looked up confused. She didn't think she knew a Jerrika...
Yoko stood back up and moved deeper into the book room. "Jerrika?" she called quietly, not wanting to be loud in a room so quiet. Then she found another girl, older than she was and asked, "Are you Jerrika?"

Jerrika frowned as she twirled the ends of her hair in her fingers Not what I hoped for. "You can't help me," she said sweetly, knowing how sensitive the younger ones could be. "I need someone taller to help me reach a book, unless you're Psychic." Laughing more at the ridiculous height than at the height of the girl, Jerrika pointed up to the Robin Hood book she was craving to read, wishing not for the first time that she was Telekinetic instead of Telepathic.
Wiping away a lingering tear, Jerrika promptly searched for another mind, maybe a tall Librarian this time Definitely someone not this...helpless Jerrika gave the younger girl one last grin before shutting her eyes letting her face turn to stone to better concentrate on the distant minds within the castle. "You can go now," Jerrika's mind was buzzing and quickly filling with yellow glare- definitely time for her to go.

"But I can help, honest and true I can." Yoko said, not wanting to be dismissed just like that. She looked up at the book again but knew there was no way she could reach it. Not without magic. Magic, of course! Yoko thought, laughing openly and glanced to the end of the row. There was a big square window and she hurried towards it.
Undoing the locks, Yoko pushed it open. Warm air spilled into the giant room full of books and Yoko held out her hands, palm up just like daddy had showed her how. They glowed a pretty white and when Yoko looked back to where Jerrika was standing, she pushed the element of air towards her. As it reached her, Yoko steared it upwards to the Robin Hood book standing on the really high shelf.
She concentrated and with a tiny pop, the book left its friends and started to fall to the ground. Yoko broke her conection with the element after thanking it and started back, but the book was going to land before she got to it, and not exactly in a nice spot.

"Man, this place has everything," Cayden sighed out in awe as he let his head fall back into the cush chair in a secluded corner of the library. He'd been wandering around the school for the past hour trying to kill some time, (which isn't easy when you have all eternity) when he came across this place. Jerrika loved to read, I wonder if she's found this place. Cayden shut Crime and Punishment with a snap of finality that echoed around the vast expanse of space. He really did miss his little sister, but after what he said to her he wouldn't doubt she hated him beyond belief. Cayden stood, running his fingers through his thick brown hair, he'd had enough of this book. Finding a vacant spot in one of many bookshelves, a gust of wind brushed against his cheek, blowing the appealing scent of blood his way. Considering the direction of wind and it's force the source couldn't have been far, curiosity struck him. Making his way past three bookshelves, Cayden stopped and peered around the side of the bookshelf fourth to find that a girl around maybe five or six was glowing with a burning white, as a rush of wind whisked by. He had to laugh, this school was filled with the most talented kids. Cayden looked on as the kid used great control to easily push a book off of one of the high shelves. Following the books projection, Cayden had to do a double-check, it was Jerrika with the book coming straight at her! Bending his knees, Cayden thrust his arms out, palms out in front quickly becoming a sun yellow- the color of death. Waiting til the book came into his line of immediate sight, Cayden let his energy escape, sending a beam that promptly vaporized the book. Letting his hands come down slowly a sudden tiredness washed over Cayden, seeing his sister there was...indescribable. Taking slow careful steps, Cayden stopped only inches from his baby sister, crouching low until he was almost touching her face. He waited.

"Hey, no fair!" Yoko whined. "I was going make sure the book didn't hit her first." she hadn't meant for the book to fall on the girl, really and honest, but she could've pushed the book out of the way of her if he hadn't come along. And he destroyed the book.
Sure she couldn't read yet, but she loved to listen to mommy or daddy read to her and they always said books were the most important things she would ever own. "You shouldn't have done that either you know. Books are special and you shouldn't destroy them." She didn't like this boy and was thinking of using the water in the air to soak him out of anger. Dumb telepaths, always thinking they can do what they want.

The buzzing like bad radio reception in her head was relieved slightly as the girl's muffled footsteps moved away from Jerrika. Her mind was still glowing a bright yellow. Frustrated, Jerrika refused to let it get the better of her and continued to concentrate as best she could. The brief sound of clicking and a rush of air broke her concentration- What was she doing?! A few silent seconds went by before she heard footsteps coming her way. The buzzing slowed, as a concrete emotion flowed out- Anger. Curious, Jerrika opened her eyes and gasped.
"Cay," she whispered. She was afraid to blink, to breath. As if one single move would shatter the illusion in front of her. Everything she remembered- Long brown hair that curled at his neck, the same smooth cheeks she'd kissed almost a thousand times. The smell of concrete after a storm still on his clothes- and the differences that were just as vivid like the burning red of his still eyes, the colorless tint of his skin glowing a soft blue. Cold seemed to jump at her from his perfectly still body. "Cay," she said again a little louder unable to ignore this. Hardly able to breath, Jerrika reached out a tentative hand expecting her hand to just phase through as it usually does when her brain came up with these Cayden clones. Shock flitted across Jerrika's face as her hand met the solid figure. Her brain felt like it'd been dipped in the fridged fountain on the grounds below. Jerrika was absorbed with thoughts of her brother when it was disturbed by the returned buzzing. Tearing her eyes from Cayden's, Jerrika found the little girl standing not too far away looking none too happy.

Cayden was afraid to breathe. He would have chuckled in spite of himself- breathing wasn't necessary. All attention on the baby sister he had falsely abandoned, Cayden could do nothing but resist the strong urge to wrap his arms around her. Jerrika was just as sweetfaced and vunerable as he remembered her. He felt disbelief at the love he felt emanating from his sister. It was the second chance he didn't deserve yet he graciously accepted, letting the world around him melt and dissolve until he only had the sister he longed to be reunited with absorb his being. Words escaped him for the time being.
