History: Lauence James Alderwood was born on February 9th to a very poor couple. They couldn't get enough money to support him and left him on a doorstep when he was a year old. The people he was left with couldn't afford to care for him either, though they tried and eventually had to put him up for adoption. Vance stayed in that orphanage until he was ten. Nobody would go through with the adoption because of his power to create fire from nothing. Oddly enough, Vance didn't mind that people were scared of him and that nobody would take him from the orphanage. He created his own fun and has been known to always be happy and smiling (though most wondered what he was plotting).
At ten years old, he and one other orphan who wasn't exactly what others would call 'normal' broke out and ran. The two became friends real quick, and found St. Vec's together. His friend turned out to be magic while Vance was sorted into the psychic group. They grew up and grew distant as the years went by. By the time they graduated, Vance hardly remembered him. After school, Vance skipped university and started his own business in town. He met Lyn when he was 24 and loved her from the moment he saw her eyes. He gave her ownership of the Bar&Grill and married her on December 19th. He is now happily married and has a daughter.

The air outside was already warming up quickly, even though the sun wasn't halfway above the horizon. Vance had already gotten dressed and entered the nursery. He smiled and picked up little Nona, who was slowly waking up and carried her down the stairs. The rest of the house was silent.
Sunny, the family dog, watched him laziy as he put Nona in her stroller and covered her with a blanket. It was warm out yes, but she was still very small and needed the protection. Vance called Sunny over and the three left the house. Sunny didn't need a leash because for one reason or another, the puppy was very tame and didn't act out often. As they walked slowly down the street, Vance listened to Nona talking happily. She was one of two most precious things in his life, right beside Lyn.
"Morning," Vance looked up and saw a stranger walking towards them. Sunny growled and stepped in front of the stroller; Vance stopped. Only Nona continued like nothing was happening.
Vance's eyes hardened, "May I help you with something?" he could tell this man had no good intentions to him, and readied himself to use his power if need be.
The man stepped closer and his fingers brushed Sunny's fur before she snapped at him, barking loudly. He gave a laugh, "I think you're dog has helped enough. You'll be seeing me soon enough - Vance." and he turned on his heel and vanished around the corner.
Once gone, Vance made sure Sunny was okay; not finding any marks or the like didn't make him feel any better about what had happened. "Come on girl, we've got to go tell Lyn about this."
